Right to Protest

Right to Protest

Protest is a fundamental part of a healthy democracy and a thriving civil society and many of the fundamental freedoms we all enjoy today are a result of social movements exposing injustice but the right to protest is now under attack. Australia must demonstrate its commitment to international human rights law and protect the right to protest. (Write your ideas for this campaign below. Please keep in mind Amnesty International Australia's values and behaviours charter when commenting. Offensive posts will be removed.)

Points

Governments want to silence communities and not let us protest about different issues. If we can't protest and do activism the world will become a worse place. I would like to see peaceful protests where people protest but they are peaceful.

Getting involved in peaceful protests which I already do. I would love to get more involved.

yes being able to protest politely is essential.
